Are all of you as astounded and appalled and sad­dened by the amount of lives lost over the last week in the typhoon and the earth­quakes as I am? I can hardly wrap my mind around the num­bers and they are no where near fig­ur­ing out the count. I won­der if they thought it was the end of the world. It sure seemed that way. To me these are num­bers of bib­li­cal pro­por­tions and my heart so goes out to all of them. And then in some coun­tries to have the gov­ern­ment steal the good food for them­selves and give the hurt­ing the spoils is despi­ca­ble, not to men­tion them not even let­ting in relief from other coun­tries. I sim­ply do not have words for that kind of behav­ior or gov­ern­ment. For all of our prob­lems here, we stand by each other and our gov­ern­ment does lend a hand when needed. Be grate­ful. I am.
