doctoring

April 29th, 2009

Even though I was almost 100% sure the “growth” under my arm was nothing because it had been there over 10 years and hadn’t changed one iota, it was still reassuring today to go to a dermatologist to have him tell me it was just a normal keratosis, one they could take care of then […]

lifes turns

April 27th, 2009

If I had stayed married to my first husband we would have been married 36 years today. April 27th.  Some dates I just never forget. Today he is preparing to get married next Saturday. I truly wish him and his soon to be wife all the best. Life’s turns.…bittersweet.

whoa

April 24th, 2009

This morning it is 83 degrees out and  I have so many gnats on my front door and window that they are black. They are swarming and nasty. I just looked on the radar to see whereabouts this rain/cold we are supposed to get this weekend might be. There is a line of sleet/snow across the […]

The Lorax Project

April 21st, 2009

I came down here, book in hand, to suggest that everyone, everywhere, every age, read The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss, for earth day. I have thought it a very sad book about the desecration of the earth since I first read it. It is about the Once-ler who comes into the beautiful land and destroys if […]

HORSING AROUND

April 21st, 2009

I have to admit. When I married and  moved here almost 13 years ago, I knew little to nothing about horses.  Still don’t. Except that they eat a lot. Poop a lot. Get burdock and all sorts of obnoxious weeds caught in their tails which cannot be brushed out so must be cut off. Hardly […]

IS IT ME?

April 20th, 2009

This will probably make a few non-Obama fans mad, but I hope not. I was wondering? Is it just me or is everyone out to nit pick to death anything and everything President Obama does? Hello! New president, new rules, thank God!! Yes, he met with a known American hater and dictator. Did you not […]

GRRRRRRR

April 17th, 2009

I didn’t know, I swear I didn’t,  that my husband was passive agressive when we met and married. I love my husband dearly, but this week.….….….….….… GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

PORCHES

April 16th, 2009

Porch time.  The best thing about spring, summer and fall. Sitting outside tonight on our front porch (or is it back?), sun setting, no breeze, no bugs, birds quieting down…it truly doesn’t get much better than that. We are so blessed to have two porches. One not screened in, one is. We will be adding onto […]

TEARS 0FCHILD

April 9th, 2009

Yesterday, during my granddaughters  “quiet” time,  she asked if she could watch “The Fox and the Hound”.  It is a recent addition to her new favorite movies as I try to bring her not only my kids favorites, but movies I think are classic. She settled in to watch it and I settled in to […]

DON’T

April 8th, 2009

Don’t ever spill water on the seat of a brand new car that tells you whether or not the “passenger air bag” is on. The car doesn’t like it. Neither do the techs where you bought your car. Too bad teenagers cannot afford new cars. Might work as birth control. And if they do borrow the […]
