I have spent the bet­ter part of  tonight watch­ing the cov­er­age of the God awful destruc­tion in Haiti. I am so con­fused. Where is the their gov­ern­ment? Peo­ple are just lay­ing in streets, stand­ing around, hurt, con­fused, in shock and you see no signs, NO signs of any type of gov­ern­ment help!! I under­stand the pres­i­dents palace was par­tially destroyed but he is okay. Where is he? Why isn’t he in a vehi­cle going down to the peo­ple, reas­sur­ing them, help­ing them? Why isn’t he open­ing the gates to the lawn area so peo­ple can go lay down there? Why can CNN and Katie Couric be broad­cast­ing from there with gen­er­a­tors and lights and skype and  there is no human­i­tar­ian aid there yet? If they can fly in why can’t planes with food, water and med­ical sup­plies? The reporters all keep say­ing it will be a cou­ple days yet until the marines get there or the planes with med­ical sup­plies and help and yet CNN is there!!! I get that peo­ple can’t and don’t want to go into their homes but it appears there is not a sin­gle entity there start­ing to direct peo­ple to an area to get info, help, food or to start mov­ing bod­ies for heav­ens sake!! It is next to the Domini­can Repub­lic where peo­ple go to vaca­tion all the time!! Why aren’t they send­ing in vehi­cles, food, help?? Towns close to there were only hit with aftershocks.…why aren’t they rush­ing in to help??? I am SO con­fused  watch­ing the vic­tims in Haiti fend­ing for them­selves! Where is everyone????
